Ready or NOT!

Greetings Good People!

We are 5 days into October already …… Q4 and Fall rolled in like READY or NOT …. I am here!

This is my first free moment to pen some shareable thoughts after 8 days of traveling by plane, train and automobile and I must say “I am very HAPPY to be here” Home that is! I am glad to be home this week with time to gather myself and prepare my mind and my home for this new season. New seasons have a different effect on people so despite my embracing it, I am mindful that changes and shifts are NOT always welcomed by the masses. Working in ever-changing environments and industries rather I like it or not has made me quite the change agent. What this means is I welcome, adapt, or embrace it no matter my emotional distain for it. Like I mentioned previously, you can’t always predict the outcome rather familiar or unfamiliar so ‘it’s best to just handle each shift as it comes.

In the reflection of the season, while engaging in some dope conversation with a few of my favs yesterday it hit me ……. Ready or NOT there are some things that will just simply take place without your permission or your preparation. Becoming OK with that is the task. I won’t say I have mastered it but as I mentioned above, I have embraced it and I want you to attempt to do the same.

All change is NOT bad despite what it looks like.

Sometimes things CHANGE because it’s the only way you will be motivated to move forward. I can recall a time or two where I was procrastinating on making a move toward one of my goals. I came up with every excuse in the book as to why timing was off, the resources were limited, and my schedule was not conducive……. It stayed on my mind for weeks and suddenly my excuses were removed without warning. My job at the time did a layoff and boom NOW I have plenty of time. It was an abrupt change in the way I moved. It shifted my comfort level, but it cleared time for me to do what I had been putting off for far too long. This was 12 or 13 years ago and in hindsight it was the CHANGE I did not know I needed to get to my next level. As you prepare for the weekend and move through this throwback Thursday, I want to encourage each of you to start welcoming new seasons with open arms. I’d rather be uncomfortable moving in the right direction by choice than forced into discomfort due to my lack of obedience any day! I am learning daily that it does not have to be perfect to be worth it ….and that goes for all things!

Rather you are at the crossroads of transition, in your career, relationship or any other part of your journey be reminded that you won’t always feel ready and though the change won’t always feel good it can always work out for your good! (If you allow it) 😊

To be ready is defined as a suitable state for an activity, action, or situation. Some may say it means easily available or within reach…. That within reach is my favorite part of the definition, because I personally believe that if we all take inventory of our own capabilities , role/position or posture that what you will discover is that ALL that you desire is WITHIN YOUR REACH which supersedes your cognitive thoughts and proves that you are READY for the change rather you realize it or NOT!

I’ll stop here ……. Alexa play, Ready or NOT by the Fugees!!

In Love & Light,

RR- xoxo
