Have you ever been watching a film, anticipating the next move by the person on the screen? You know like the Lifetime Network movies, where the intruders come in the front door and the owners immediately run out the back door just to have one of the family members fall or get caught? I guarantee many of you are in full agreement that you have been witness to this very predictable story on many occasions. It’s like you have the inside scoop on the script but really, it’s just what experience has taught you and you believe that all the movies with the same set-up and similar story lines are all the same until one hit you with a plot twist that you did not see coming……
SUCH AS LIFE!!
September has always been the month to remember but friends the past 19 days have been mind blowing already! I recently found myself in some unfamiliar territory that felt very familiar but there was a plot twist. What I have learned in watching film and being surrounded by people in that industry is that there’s always a plot twist and even when you think you know you truly have no idea at all. So why do many of us keep trying to predict the outcome as if it’s the lifetime movie when stories change! If you have ever had a deal in the bag, so you thought; then you know what I mean! You got excited, you started telling people to prepare and they got excited with you only to come back and say that deal fell through. I had this happen to me in Dec 2019 and I began sharing some news with my friends and family like “ Spring 2020” is about to be lit, the schedule is powerful and packed join me , I partnered with GOD and saw one of my dreams come to reality to be followed with the pandemic canceling all the excitement. In full transparency, I even had it happen a month ago, but this time there was a major plot twist! It was everything I wanted, I prayed for the moment and shared with a few close friends like OMG, guess what and BOOM, plot twist and my excitement became a few cents short of disappointment. In my younger years, I would be embarrassed that my excitement got the best of me but most recently I can appreciate those moments because it taught me not to share anything prematurely!
Believe it or not the minute you release something in the atmosphere to the masses it becomes wide open to opinions and the ENEMY. The enemy like Doubt, Fear, Ego, Criticism, Comparison and so much more starts to rise. I am learning that we must leave room for change, room for new routes and different beautiful beginnings and endings removing the urge to share with the world too soon because GOD our creator can still hit you with a plot twist that you may never predict!
As you lean into this week, I challenge you to be open to the PLOT TWIST in this season of your life. You think you know but you really have no idea!! The trailer to your story was only a glimpse; there’s some parts that you won’t even see coming until the series is near completion. Every season offers something new even if it looks familiar to YOU. Believe that the outcome is better than you can ever cook up, and I don’t know about you, but I really don’t want to be invited over for a half -cooked meal anywhere and you should not want to serve one either!
Let’s rid ourselves of the know it all, seen it all before spirit. For some, that level of thinking is what’s preventing you from seeing some things you really desire manifest. You have placed a subconscious limit by thinking you know the end before it even begins! Newsflash, you don’t so, grab your popcorn, pour up your favorite beverage and relax……That movie of yours is going to be a hit!
