Can you stand the rain?

So many people have counted you out.

Sometimes you may have even counted yourself out….

But as the songwriter says “ That’s not how the story will end” …… ( You know what I mean 😊 )

 It’s honestly how the story will begin.

It begins with starting over repeatedly and again until you do the right thing at the right time with the right people in tow!

Framily!! It’s been a few weeks since we last had a blog exchange and I am taking this quick minute to simply check-in. I have literally been all around the US, abroad and back since summer and my cup is FULL. Full of joy and peace ....Not perfect but peaceful. :)

How are you doing? Like seriously , the world has been in FLAMES on so many levels the past few weeks from wars , natural disasters , political craze, and haze and so much more! The news and moving day to day around a variety of people can get mentally taxing if you allow it, so my prayer is that each of you are fairing the times well …choosing to live to live and not live to die all while using your voice and gifts for good!

Fall is here ….and it came in hot literally . I was in Texas the 1st day of Fall ; I came back home to DMV thinking the weather would be cooler to find we were still holding strong with an 80-degree temperature. A little too early for my faux leather pants and a jacket , so open -toes and shorts remained even this past weekend. The weather is truly unpredictable and has a mind and plan of its own. If the weather was a person , I would say it’s a person that doesn’t make a lot of plans but has all the plans and knows exactly how to shift gears and pivot when cold fronts and climates from a variety of regions start to interfere with what was originally scheduled for the day.

The weather is a great example of Adaptability.

Adaptability is defined as “ The quality of being able to adjust to new conditions”  or “the capacity to be modified for a new use or purpose.”

When it rains – we grab a raincoat , rain boots and umbrellas…

When it snows- we grab gloves, hat, a heavier coat and whatever is needed to protect us from getting cold ….

When the weather changes ….we adapt to the change and the show goes on ….

When life conditions change… we have a challenging time adapting?

Not because we don’t know how to adapt ( as shown above) but likely because we don’t desire to do it at that moment.

But guess what? You won’t always be able to control the conditions around you,  but you will always have what you need to weather the life changing condition.

When it rains – grab your umbrella of faith and put on your proper shoes so you won’t get caught slipping. You have the tools. If not already in your hands or circle , at your fingertips!!!

When life feels like a storm- Take shelter ( quiet your mind) and protect your peace and your belongings. Not everybody deserves access to you during these types of seasons. It will cause you to reflect, observe and remove the distractions in order to SEE your way through it!

Think about a time you were driving during stormy weather?

What did you do to get to your destination safely? Did you Pause (pull-over)? Pray? Push through or all the above?

Really , think about your answer and now whatever comes to mind …Apply those same tools if stormy conditions land your way this week!!

Adapt! You got this and GOD got us!!
