The first 90 days of 2024 in the books!!

Brothas y'all alright?
Q1 has been a whirlwind and I know I am not alone in saying so.
I am happy to see the month of April! ( Get in here and let's make magic)
April is filled with soooo many amazing NEW opportunities to start fresh!
I mean , April 1st being on a Monday alone is something to celebrate. It's like the month already knew we needed a hard reset where we could start our month on a good foot. So, I am hopeful that each of you were able to conquer some of that winter blues this weekend while springing ahead into all the newness that awaits in coming days!!
I really wanted to start this blog off getting some of the Q1 stuff off my chest ((say it with ya chest Rochonda Rene')) but I'm reminded that when you are moving into NEW things you don't sit long with the old ones be it good or bad. I will say , YA girl has been standing on business and the standard LITERALLY and sometimes when you are doing the RIGHT thing other things tend to go wrong!!! So, to whomever is reading today before we go any further , you are doing good job, your feelings are valid, and your efforts are valued!! I know sometimes we can get into beast mode , Dad mode , mom mode, strong friend mode , hero mode and forget that we are HUMAN. When this happens, the blows begin to feel more prescriptive and personal when sometimes it really is not. My Pastor ( John K Jenkins) always says that most people are either going through something , getting out of something or about to experience something because that is how life is....I find JOY in knowing no matter which part of the cycle we are in, we will get through it!!
Rather than write a mini book of life in the first 90 days of 2024, let me share a few reminders as you begin to navigate this new month!
Perception is not always reality even if other people believe it ....... People only allow you to see what they allow you to see. In the world of Beyonce's internet people feel more entitled to your life story rather you have a large digital footprint or not, rather you are posting for business or your kids easter pictures or not. People often make decisions off said " perception" , Be mindful to remain the narrator of your own story where and with whom it matters most. YOU have nothing to prove to the internet or its followers .
Minding your Seed is just as important as minding your business......Spring is a season where many things begin to BLOOM and often times people get the urge to start planting new soil and new seeds when the season often just calls for them to tend to the seeds previously planted. Translation: Bloom where you are already planted , steward the current seed well before you begin sowing other seeds out of desperation to see something grow! The seed you planted last year was good it just did not get planted in time for a harvest ...... now that spring is here tend to that garden and watch it grow! (( Let me know if that was for YOU))
Life and Death are real , don't put things off until tomorrow, take the risk...
We are commanded to LIVE ......... and unfortunately, we will also die. I am coming to grips with this daily ( y'all pray for me , it's deep especially at this BIG AGE) as I have lost so many people over the past few years. If there is something you want in LIFE go get it , go experience it. We really only get one trip and most of us committed to LIVE it to the fullest and sometimes that means LIVING it to the fullest with what you have TODAY not what you will have TOMORROW.
Friendship & Family are more important than your JOB title , your content , your followers and your accolades.......(Let's argue, I got receipts) If this is all you want folks to remember when you leave here , then stop reading now and carry on...... But if you are looking to lead a beautiful meaningful life, it has to be more than just doing.... I can say this because I was once a " doer" when my focus shifted to simply BEING , it did not stop the accolades , the increase , the favor etc. but it did make life more intentional and quite frankly richer in my heart and in my account! Don't sacrifice the simple things that make life go round.... and honestly after you experience #3, leaning into #4 is easier. My desire to be around my family, close friends and to build my own lovely story has heightened like no other the past 90 days and honestly, they are all I need to get by!!
Don't lose it all trying to do it ALL! Be selfish but not at the cost of the ones that love you just because. The ones that need you more are right in front of you.
I have 3 more but I'll stop there, and You'll get a bonus round Wednesday!!
Make April Personal, Get your words right and remember the only goal is to become a better version of yourself one day at a time. #Grace
